Open Standards
Signet records are built on open specifications: C2PA-supportive structure and RFC 3161 third-party timestamps. Both exist and verify independently of Signet.
- Verification runs locally in the reviewer's browser. No account, no upload.
- One verification page handles every Signet record type — Studio and Academic.
- The reference verifier is open source.
Wind-Down Protocol
Signet's Terms of Service include a binding commitment: if Signet ceases operating, the verifier, the record specification, and the documentation required for independent verification are released under an open-source license, and institutional records transfer on request. Sealed records remain verifiable regardless of the company's status.
